Lately, I have been addicted to skincare. Kinda funny because I never gave a damn about skincare. I was the kind of girl who just wiped her face with wet tissue and called it a day. I did cardinal sin by sleeping with my makeup on for YEARS.
Belakangan ini, aku lagi kecanduan skin care. Lucu aja karena biasanya aku nggak pernah peduli sama perawatan kulit. Boro-boro perawatan, bersihin makeup pake tisu basah aja udah syukur. I did cardinal sin by sleeping with my makeup on for YEARS.
I realized my horrible mistake when I was looking at my face. It's not smooth and supple like before. My skin was dull with uneven tone and my pores were as large as Africa. I also had shitload of blackheads. *cry*
So, in desperation, I turned to Korean skincare routine because it received rave reviews here and there. One of the product I added to my routine was sleeping pack. Sleeping pack is different from night cream. Your night cream means to sink in and moisturize your skin, while sleeping pack means to 'lock in' the moisture resulted from using products like hydrating toner, essence, serum, and moisturizer or night cream. I chose Tony Moly Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack because it got cute packaging and skincare goodies like niacinamide.
Pertobatanku dimulai saat ngeliat muka yang sudah nggak semulus jaman SMA. Kulitku jadi kusam, warnanya nggak rata, porinya segede benua Afrika, dan komedoan parah. Aku akhirnya beralih ke skincare routine ala Korea karena reviewnya bagus sekali. Salah satu skincare yang kutambah dalam routineku adalah sleeping pack. Sleeping pack ini beda dengan krim malam ya. Krim malam berguna untuk memberi kelembaban pada kulit, sementara sleeping pack fungsinya lebih ke 'mengunci' kelembaban yang dihasilkan produk-produk sebelumnya seperti hydrating toner, essence, serum, dan moisturizer atau night cream. Aku pilih Tony Moly Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack karena kemasannya lucu dan mengandung bahan-bahan ampuh macam niacinamide.

Hmmm... nothing seems too dangerous. I didn't see any red warning, but some ingredients may be harsh for people with sensitive skin so use it with caution. I was a bit disappointed because this sleeping pack contained cyclopentasiloxane aka silicon. My skin was not sensitive to silicone, but because of its super oily nature, my skin hated it. Any form of silicone felt heavy on my skin and it sometimes caused clogged pores. Yes. even if it comes in a lighter form of silicone aka cyclopentasiloxane instead of dimethicone. I love the fact that this sleeping pack contained niacinamide to tackle wrinkle and larga pores, plus various plants extracts. ^^
Hmmm... nggak ada yang tampak berbahaya banget. Nggak ada yang ditandai merah, tetapi beberapa bahan mungkin agak keras untuk orang dengan kulit sensitif jadi gunakan dengan hati-hati. Aku agak kecewa karena sleeping pack ini mengandung cyclopentasiloxane alias silikon. Kulitku memang tidak sensitif dengan silikon, tetapi karena kulitku berminyak banget, silikon terasa berat di kulitku dan terkadang sampai menutup poriku. Yes. even if it comes in a lighter form of silicone aka cyclopentasiloxane instead of dimethicone. Sisi baiknya, sleeping pack ini dilengkapi niacinamide untuk mengatasi pori besar dan kerutan serta ekstrak tumbuhan yang lumayan banyak. ^^
TEXTURE AND PERFORMANCE
This product is thick and it comes in white color. The smell is divine... It reminds me of jasmine flower, probably due to jasmine extract on its ingredient list. When you apply it to your face, the white cream will turn transparent. This product will make your skin smooth and bright in an instant. BUT DONT BE FOOLED... because the crazy smooth effect is resulted from layer of silicon and the britghtening effect is gone immediately after you wash your face. T.T
Produk ini punya tekstur kental dengan warna putih. Wanginya enaaaaak banget... Baunya mirip bunga melati gitu. Mungkin efek dari ekstrak melati dalam kandungannya. Begitu diaplikasikan ke wajah, warna putihnya berubah transparan. Produk ini memberi efek menghaluskan wajah dan membuat kulit wajah menjadi cerah seketika.Tetapi jangan tertipu... efek halus itu terjadi karena timbunan silikon di wajah dan efek mencerahkannya segera lenyap saat produk ini dibilas air. T.T
In my opinion, this product doesn't suit oily skin. My skin felt suffocated when I was using this sleeping pack. It's so uncomfortable. It felt like someone just wrapped my face with cling wrap or something like that, thanks to its silicone. How about the brightening effect? Empty promise. This product did brightened my face when it's on my skin, but when I washed my face afterward... poof. No brightening effect whatsoever. And did it tighten my pores? NOOOO. My pores looked impossibly bigger when I was wearing this product. Maybe because my face became oily af. I am not a dermatologist, but I think my face became oily and slick because my skin is 'suffocated' by silicone.

Menurutku, produk ini kurang cocok untuk kulit berminyak. Kulitku seperti dibekap saat memakai produk ini. Rasanya benar-benar tidak nyaman. Seakan ada yang melapisi kulitku dengan plastik atau sejenisnya, thanks to its silicone. Untuk efek mencerahkannya? Nggak ada perubahan signifikan tuh di mukaku. Begitu dicuci, muka tidak cerahan. Kecerahan yang dihasilkan produk ini semu semata. Terus bisa ngecilin pori? NGGAK! Pori-poriku tampak membesar saat aku memakai produk ini. Mungkin karena mukaku jadi AMAT SANGAT BERMINYAK. Aku bukan dermatolog, tapi kuduga mukaku jadi berminyak parah karena kulitku 'dibekap' silikon.

REPURCHASE? NOOOOOOO. I will try Laneige Sleeping Pack. NEXT!
